Being Hindu - Is it such a big deal ?

Once my father quoted - " Son you should be proud that you are born in Hindu family and that too as Pundit". At that moment of time I felt very proud and found myself on top of the ladder , though this happened around 10 years back when I was not much aware of what exactly that statement meant. Today nothing much has changed around even when we say that India has grown at 10% in past few years but does growth only means by lower fiscal deficit and bullish stock market ? What about the mentality and thinking level of the people of the country ? Have they grown ? This is one of the biggest questions which still remains unanswered.
Even today if someone starts with his rally around big cities bragging about superiority of Hindus I am sure that those cities will have tough time in terms of traffic management with so many people supporting the fact. Even after Babri Masjid incidence , Godhra riots people have not understood one thing that these religions are just to be believed into , not to create a segment of superiority and inferiority. How does it makes a difference that a child who is born as Hindu that too in a top segment among Hindus itself will not do something wrong and harm the society and a Muslim will ? I am totally against it. I have never felt that a person from other caste or religion can be less competitive or less efficient then me. If India has to grow it is very important that we should utilise the resources that are available to us , instead of filtering out the best not on the basis of there ability but on the basis of religion they belong to. We should be proud of that we have such a diverse pool of people to interact with , eat with , have fun with and celebrate with.
I am not blaming common man as the reason behind all this thing instead they are being used to spread this disease among the humanity , they are not the virus but they are the carriers. The biggest force behind this communal misunderstanding is our political parties. Ruling party banks on the vote from biggest pool of Muslim votes , opposition party banks on votes from Hindus across the country and many local parties show there sympathy to SC , ST and OBC just to get there votes. Everyone is playing some game here or there just to show that there religion or caste is superior as compared to the other one and the end result is more votes from there target base. I still believe that India could have done far better as compared to current situation that is prevailing in our society.
I think it is time that we should stand against these bunch of people who are becoming hindrance in secularism and not letting a Hindu family celebrate Eid with a Muslim family. Why should we miss on the amazing kheer made by a Muslim friend and why cant they be a bit colourful on Holi ? After all in our passport our nationality is still - Indian !!!!
