Indian Politics - A Gridlock To Growth !!

Mamta Di wake up it's 2012 not 1912 !!!
If anybody who has kept a track on recent acts of Mamta Di (Mamta Banerjee) against UPA government will not differ to the title of this blog today. I am not talking about just one politician or any specific act of them , I am talking about whole Indian political system which acts as a biggest hindrance in Indian growth story. Be it Mamta Banerjee over FDI and Diesel Price hike or be it BJP which wasted the monsoon session of recently called off parliament , it is not very difficult for us to analyse that these politicians are among one of the reasons why today we all hate our political system.
In recent bold steps by UPA to bring in many of the reforms starting from FDI in retail , then moving on too pension funds and insurance were among one of the most critical and most important moves made by any government in last couple of decade or so. These moves will be counted among few steps taken by any party for betterment of country and its economical growth. I appreciate that first time in last 8 years of congress rule , congress wasn't fearing any of the allies and what they did was not to save there government but to enhance countries condition in International market.
What I don't like about these politicians is that they use the pain of a common man for there own benefits like recently when prices of diesel and LPG were increased instead of telling common man what is the reason behind these moves they played with the sentiments and pain through which a common man was going through and as it is truly said in Hindi "dushman ka dushman , mera dost"  (an enemy of my enemy is my friend), these politicians portrayed themselves as our best friend(Though it is nothing but just an opportunity to enhance the vote bank). Most of us don't even know that for same LPG cylinder a Pakistani friend pays close to Rs.900 , Nepali friend pays Rs.875 , family in Srilanka pays Rs. 980 and many more. How long can government keep on providing subsidies to common man when they themselves are in trouble. Indian fiscal deficit was supposed to be at 5.1% by the end of this financial year but due to depreciating Indian currency and also unrest in middle east the import of crude oil has put a lot of pressure on import bills and hence on the wallet of exchequer too. Now it is expected that it will end up close to 5.8% which is not a good news for our country.
Why do we have to support politicians like Mamta Banerjee who herself is a big corrupt entity , under her rule Bengal has suffered on growth aspect , she is the one who played on the sentiments of local farmers and didn't let TATA's to set up factory to manufacture NANO. If she would have allowed the project it would have helped suffering West Bengal a lot but again corrupt and dirty politics comes into the picture. Just because she wants farmers votes she was with them , how sad for West Bengal and how good it was for Narender Modi's province Gujrat. This is just one of the incidence which proves that just to get there vote bank running these politicians will either fight for poor , for SC ,ST ,Muslim or Hindu but no one will talk about growth and development. This is no different from our past rulers from Britain who ruled us with divide and rule policy.
We desperately need a better political environment
Being politician doesn't means that you have to just be in rule for 5 or 10 years , a role of politician is to come up and educate people when there is any unrest, to come out of there comfort zones and take necessary measures. Today India has a big potential to grow at rapid pace and challenge many emerging countries even China. The need is to pull up the socks and utilise our vast pool of resources in terms of man power and there talent. We need to understand as mango people that thee reforms are just like an injection which does gives us pain initially but cures us from any disease. We are the ones who should not come under any kind of political influence which might hamper the growth of our country and ultimately become a more severe problem for us. We need to have trust in our Judiciary and our chosen leaders(Even if most of them our corrupt) but we need to understand that it's not only us who is suffering in entire world but most of it is. We need to be united and ensure that we won't let these external forces divide us and use us. Indeed we need our ruling parties to do support us too and for this we need a leader and a neat and clean political system that compliments his leadership not drag him down as many of current politicians are doing.
We need Manmohan Singh of 1991, we need Atal Bihari Vajpayee !!!

Sachin Tendulkar - The Grand-Dad of Cricket !!!

On April 24 , 1973 a legend was born in Bombay( now Mumbai ) in the family of Mr. Ramesh Tendulkar, though no one knew that he was a legend in making but it didn't took long for everyone around to realize this. Enough has been talked about Sachin's past but the main topic today is indeed one of the hottest topics in International Cricket - When should the biggest entertainer of cricket ever will hang his boots ? No one has the answer and even no one has this much of courage to speak it out loud that when should he say goodbye.
Recently Sachin first time uttered in an interview to a sports channel that after England series he will re-assess the things and will decide about the future. Well this might be a very emotional moment for each and every fan of Sachin across the globe including me. Just imagine he hasn't even said anything about retirement and people are already restless, imagine what if he comes tomorrow and announces his retirement. I have followed Sachin since I understood cricket , may be from year 1994 I have seen this amazing player entertaining each and every cricket fan around the world. To become Sachin Tendulkar you just not need special talent but you need commitment , dedication , passion , willingness to do well every time you wear Indian jersey and hunger for runs and the most important thing is you need a cool and calm head which has never seen down to people but has treated everyone with same love and respect. A man of such class has never been found in any kind of controversy , he has hardly shown any kind of emotion against worst decisions which came his way. People don't love him just because he makes batting look easy , they love him because he has never let his prolific records get over his head. He is a man of least words and maximum action.
Even after such a long journey which is almost 23 years long you can see his eagerness to go out there and show everyone that he still has something new to show. International cricket has seen so many players which has joined him at the biggest stage and left but he is still going without any hindrance. We all have seen Brian Lara ,  Saeed Anwar , Rahul Dravid , Sourav Ganguly , VVS Laxman , Ricky Ponting , Jacques Kallis etc. but I personally never felt anyone even close to him , not even Brian Lara ( I am sorry for this statement , but this is my personal viewpoint ).
As I am writing this Sachin still is in action for Mumbai Indians , the only team for which Sachin plays T-20 now , I still see the same energy running across his veins which was there when he smacked likes of Glenn Mcgrath , Gillespie  ,Shane Warne in Sharjah.
Lets not talk about the retirement of Sachin Tendulkar, at least not after what he has done for all of us and fans across the globes. There has to be a difference between him and others. Let him decide when to take this step as there won't be any better person or I should say no person in this world is of such class or level close to him who can utter when should the Great Dad retire. He hasn't disappointed in last 23 years , he won't disappoint us with his retirement at least !!!! . HAIL SACHIN TENDULKAR

Being Hindu - Is it such a big deal ?

Once my father quoted - " Son you should be proud that you are born in Hindu family and that too as Pundit". At that moment of time I felt very proud and found myself on top of the ladder , though this happened around 10 years back when I was not much aware of what exactly that statement meant. Today nothing much has changed around even when we say that India has grown at 10% in past few years but does growth only means by lower fiscal deficit and bullish stock market ? What about the mentality and thinking level of the people of the country ? Have they grown ? This is one of the biggest questions which still remains unanswered.
Even today if someone starts with his rally around big cities bragging about superiority of Hindus I am sure that those cities will have tough time in terms of traffic management with so many people supporting the fact. Even after Babri Masjid incidence , Godhra riots people have not understood one thing that these religions are just to be believed into , not to create a segment of superiority and inferiority. How does it makes a difference that a child who is born as Hindu that too in a top segment among Hindus itself will not do something wrong and harm the society and a Muslim will ? I am totally against it. I have never felt that a person from other caste or religion can be less competitive or less efficient then me. If India has to grow it is very important that we should utilise the resources that are available to us , instead of filtering out the best not on the basis of there ability but on the basis of religion they belong to. We should be proud of that we have such a diverse pool of people to interact with , eat with , have fun with and celebrate with.
I am not blaming common man as the reason behind all this thing instead they are being used to spread this disease among the humanity , they are not the virus but they are the carriers. The biggest force behind this communal misunderstanding is our political parties. Ruling party banks on the vote from biggest pool of Muslim votes , opposition party banks on votes from Hindus across the country and many local parties show there sympathy to SC , ST and OBC just to get there votes. Everyone is playing some game here or there just to show that there religion or caste is superior as compared to the other one and the end result is more votes from there target base. I still believe that India could have done far better as compared to current situation that is prevailing in our society.
I think it is time that we should stand against these bunch of people who are becoming hindrance in secularism and not letting a Hindu family celebrate Eid with a Muslim family. Why should we miss on the amazing kheer made by a Muslim friend and why cant they be a bit colourful on Holi ? After all in our passport our nationality is still - Indian !!!!

Indian Education System - A boon or a bane !!

In recent times we all have come across many chit chats about changes that should be brought in Indian Education System and I personally vote in favor of it. When we talk about Indian shining and growth story of a common Indian across the globe we ignore the fact that we can do far better when it comes to create better leaders and entrepreneurs. Then what is stopping us to do all this ? The answer lies in our day to day life scenarios which we all cross without noticing even.
It starts from our schools and ends up at graduation or post graduations in most of the cases. A 5 year kid joins school and from very first class he is expected to come out with flying colors and top in the class when he can hardly recall how many alphabets are there in English. When he grows up he starts observing and learning from the external environment , his peers , televisions , celebrities  , parents , he wants to be a cricketer but because the success ratio is very less parents won't allow him to hold a bat and start dreaming. What they want ? Sharmaji's son has recently topped in his class so should you. The pressure is immense and what will the poor child do ? He will start slogging day and night just to ensure that he gets more marks then all the children his parents know about if not top in the class. In this expedition both the child and parents forget one thing , that is there child even learning something or he is becoming just another book worm which we Indians are famous for.
Again our education system also supports all this which has created various slabs or segments which contains students from different academic background but they ignore the fact that in pursuing this marks and percentage game , innovative ideas and analytical skills all go for a toss. If you have this many marks you can get admission in this college , but I personally has seen so many talented people around me who never got good marks in there academics but now are very successful in whatever they are doing. Someone has become a very successful businessman , someone is working at Taj hotels, someone was hired by one of international banks, someone is also playing IPL.
So when we know that marks are never a true representative of a persons capability then why our society which is already being cursed by so many classes and castes has created another segment where entry is based on how many A+ grades you have throughout your career. I also never understood one thing that in my school I studied one of the toughest subjects like Physics , Chemistry and Mathematics but except Mathematics I have not been able to use my knowledge of Physics and Chemistry anywhere in my professional life. When I can't utilize it then why did I studied that even?. No one knows the answer even I don't , but this is what we all are going through for many decades and this will continue for many years to come.
Today most of big corporates are crying over higher attrition rate , declining employee productivity and what not , even when they ensure that they are hiring from top B-schools , Engineering colleges and universities. If students studying in these top notch colleges are so good then why they can't handle the pressure that is being laid upon there shoulders by these companies ? The answer to this is still unknown or we all know but just because changes are difficult to implement no one bothers to come up and start doing something. The government has to come up with new model where they can ensure that marks doesn't becomes a criteria of selection but innovative aspect , hard working nature and mental toughness should be evaluated while making any selection.
I personally never understood that why a student who has worked hard in his earlier stages of life say class 10th and 12th  and secured 90% or above can be a perfect candidate 10 years down the line too when we all know that in these 10 years he might have lost his focus and become less responsible. Even the opposite is true what if a student was not focused when he was in class 10th or 12th but later he suddenly discovered his strengths and became one of the best around but our because our education system is like this only that the latter case wont succeed but the earlier one will definitely.
With such a huge talent pool we should now ensure that selection criteria and selection procedures should be modified just to ensure that the even if you select the bad ones make sure a good one is not lost !!!!
